Brett Lane Dickerson was born in Oakdale, the son of a livestock rancher and a ‘stay at home mom'. Brett's early years were spent in the Oakdale school system, culminating in his graduation as a proud Mustang from Oakdale High School in 1976. Brett remained close to the local community during his college years, graduating from California State College, Stanislaus in 1980.
Brett married his wife Diane in 1984 and enjoyed success in aviation, modular office manufacturing, and real estate, owning a real estate brokerage office in Greeley Hill, CA.However, Brett always wanted to be a lawyer, so he entered law school in 1993. He graduated with honors from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1996 and has been in steady practice in Modesto since that time.
Brett was named to the Dean’s List every year he attended, was a recipient of Annabelle McGeorge Scholarship, earned membership in the Roger F. Traynor Honor Society in recognition for excellence in the study of law, and was awarded first honors in trial advocacy by the Consumer Attorneys of Sacramento Association. He is most proud, however, of having been selected by his classmates to be the Day Division commencement speaker at their graduation ceremony.
Brett has held a California Real Estate Broker’s license for 25 years. In addition to owning the real estate office in Greeley Hill, Brett was also past President of the Hetch-Hetchy Board of Realtors and was a three time Top Producer Award winner. This experience of actually having worked “in the trenches” in the real estate business and as the owner of a real estate office gives him a unique perspective into the difficulties facing brokers and salespersons alike.
Brett has been a pilot since 1976 and holds a commercial pilot’s certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings. He is also a certificated flight instructor.
